Ampiot, the current Miss Guadeloupe, called receiving the silver and blue tiara from beauty queen Diane Leyre a waking dream.
Critics of the Miss France pageant remain unconvinced as the 2023 winner is crowned.
After a night of swimsuits, evening gowns, and heels, 18-year-old communications student Indira Ampiot was crowned Miss France 2023 on Saturday.
"While competing, Ampiot had advocated for women with cancer and cheered on France in the World Cup, ending her speech with "Allez Les Bleus!"
The competition entry was previously open to childless women between 18-24 who measured at least 1.70 meters (5.6 feet) in height.
The restrictions were relaxed for this year's event. After this change, women of childbearing age, regardless of height or marital status, are welcome to apply.
She has registered for the Communication License program and will begin her studies in January 2023. She aspires to work in advertising as an art director.
A year's stay in a plush Paris apartment, gifts from the event's sponsors, and an undisclosed monthly salary would suit a senior executive in France.
